Assignment for 6/23-6/28: Creative lighting pictures

I apologize for those who didn’t make the 6/22 meeting for the delay in getting this post out about this week’s assignment until now.  Been busy but still no excuse.  This week’s assignment is creative lighting.  In Tuesday’s group we worked seeing the available light and using it to our advantage to be creative and capturing mood in pictures.  If you missed the meeting check out the videos on the top of this page under “Videos, tips and tricks,”  That’s a great way to catch up if you miss any meetings.

I was so impressed with the pictures many of you took on Tuesday.  Carla had her new D90 for the first day and produced some amazing creative pictures.  Nice job girl.  Bret and Danielle were working the camera like models and being rock stars.  Steve and Ark used the sun to their advantage and really used the camera to their advantage as well adjusting the setting.  Kim and Elise and Madison were having a blast and impressing me with their pics and creativity.  I loved seeing that. Josh had a smile on his face and so did I from his pictures.   Will and Megan were building on their  photographer’s eye for getting great pictures.

If you haven’t already make sure you check out everyone’s blogs, subscribe to them to receive email updates of their posts, and comment on each other’s posts.

Have a great weekend shooting and can’t wait to see you all Tuesday.

Week 4 meeting: The camera is your best friend

This week’s meeting will be at 6:30 pm Downtown Fayetteville again at Rude Awakening coffee shop to learn how our cameras can creatively make our pictures stand out.  We will be practicing white balance, composition and framing.  It should be a great time walking around Downtown again and there will be a game involved on Tuesday so don’t miss it.  A prize will be involved for the winner of the game so if you like free stuff don’t miss it.  If you don’t like free stuff then come anyway but you are weird then.  Just kidding.  See you all Tuesday night.

Week 3: Creative Lighting in Downtown Fayetteville

Photogs,

Our 3rd group meeting will be Downtown Fayetteville 6:30 pm in front of the Cameo Theatre and Rude Awakening coffee shop. We will be “photo walking” the area for an organic teaching experience looking at light and how to use it to our advantage.  This is where creativity is spawned (no negative pun intended) because you see, feel, sometimes hear and experience your photos.

If you are unclear where the Cameo or Rude Awakening are located please call me at 910 916 1493.

I will likely be downtown around 5/5:30 shooting on my own.  You are more than welcome to join me at that time to shoot more.

See you then,

Ryan

P.S.  A lot of people will be asking us if this is a photography class when they see tons of people in a group with cameras.  This is a great opportunity to invite them to the group and more importantly segway into a “divine appointment” from God.  Pray about that tonight and see where God leads you.

2nd wk Assignment: Shutter Speed and aperture pics again

Photogs,

This weeks assignment will be shutter speed and aperture pictures again.  If you didn’t get a chance to set up a blog last week but are better understanding what a blog is and set one up then you are able to post your pictures.  I can’t wait to see them!  I’ve seen a handful of assignment picture posts and they are wonderful.  Post more people.  I’ll likely comment on every post and I suggest you to try to do the same.  Feedback, whether good or constructive criticism, is one of the greatest ways to improve.  And one of the greatest ways to spark creativity and art is viewing other’s work.  I do it all the time online and in magazines.
